Abstract
This document provides a review of the attitude and behaviour theory which is being used as the main theoretical construct to guide the work on the project. The material presented is organised into five chapters. The second chapter deals with the fundamentals of the Theory of Reasoned Action (TORA). All the major ideas and concepts that constitute the Theory of Reasoned Action are treated critically, explaining their meaning and their strengths and weaknesses whenever they have been applied in various studies on understanding the relationship between attitudes and behaviour. The third chapter is an extension of the previous one as it highlights the main features of the studies that are relevant to the project at hand. The fourth chapter has attempted provide an illustration of how the Theory of Reasoned Action construct is applied by using one recently completed study and another one still underway. In the final chapter a bibliography on the subject is provided.
