Abstract

This report discusses the role of infrastructure in promoting and supporting economic growth, and in particular pro-poor growth. Following broad overviews, it examines the contribution of different types of infrastructure to growth, including the transport sector, electricity, telecommunications, and water and sanitation. It concludes with a brief comment on policy issues.
