Abstract

This study examined protracted inter-religious conflict in Nigeria, focusing on recent violent episodes and their aftermath. The research was constructed in Kano (in a predominantly Muslim state) and Jos in the religiously mixed Middle Belt. The study uses secondary sources, semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions to examine the role of religion in the causes, triggers and consequences of the violence.
