We Can Tell Them:AIDS Doesn't Come Through Being Together. Children's Experience of HIV and AIDS Related Stigma In Zambia 2002-2003

Abstract

In 2002 Kara Counselling and Training Trust, in conjunction with ZAMBART, carried out a study to investigate children's experiences of HIV-related stigma in Zambia. This was a sub-study of the research project \"Understanding HIV and TB related stigma in urban and rural Zambia\". The report covers the following aspects: study design and methods, findings, causes of stigma, the impact of stigma, how children cope with stigma, and recommendations for programmatic responses. There are 2 appendices: Mary's story (a story to be told in the group session on children and stigma) and the questions for individual semi-structured interview.
