Guralp Sytems Ltd

The SFO launched an investigation into suspected corruption by Guralp Systems Ltd in 2015.

On 22 October 2019, the SFO and Güralp Systems Ltd finalised a Deferred Prosecution Agreement, under which Güralp Systems Ltd accepts the charges of conspiracy to make corrupt payments and failure to prevent bribery and agreed to pay a total of £2,069,861.

On 21 November 2024, we informed the court that we believe the terms of this DPA have been breached. We have requested a hearing at Southwark Crown Court (sitting at the Royal Courts of Justice) to take the matter forward.

Case timeline

21 Nov 2024 – SFO informs the court that the terms of the DPA are believed to have been breached and requests a hearing at Southwark Crown Court.

22 Oct 2019 – SFO and Güralp Systems Ltd finalised a Deferred Prosecution Agreement.

19 Dec 2019 – Dr Cansun Güralp and Natalie Pearce were also found not guilty by the jury.

18 Dec 2019 – Andrew Bell was acquitted.

14 Oct 2019 – The trial of Güralp, Bell and Pearce began at Southwark Crown Court.

17 Sep 2018 – Natalie Pearce was charged with conspiracy to make corrupt payments contrary and ordered to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 28 September 2018. More information here.

8 Aug 2018 – SFO announces investigation into Guralp Systems Ltd as Dr Cansun Güralp and Andrew Bell are charged with conspiracy to make corrupt payments and ordered to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Monday 20 August 2018.
