CESSA Housing Association provides sheltered housing for ex-service personnel aged over 60.

About CESSA Housing Association

The Church of England Soldiers’, Sailors’ and Airmen (CESSA) Housing Association is a charitable housing association.

It has 5 schemes in the Portsmouth and Gosport area, which are:

  • CESSAC House, Gosport
  • Dhekelia Court, Portsmouth
  • Glamis Court, Stubbington
  • St George’s Court, Portsmouth
  • Trafalgar Court, Southsea

Applications for these schemes are welcome from former military personnel (including National Servicemen) aged over 60 (and/or their dependants).

They also manages a further 3 schemes owned by Greenwich Hospital, a Crown Royal Navy Charity, which are:

  • Greenwich Court, Southsea
  • Greenwich Place, Saltash
  • Trafalgar Quarters, Greenwich

The Greenwich schemes are open only to former personnel of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Women’s Royal Naval Service, Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service, Royal Navy National Service, Royal Fleet Auxiliary or Royal Naval Auxiliary Service.

Each flat is let at a reasonable rent on an assured tenancy. Homeowners may apply, but under the terms of the tenancy agreement, successful applicants must use their flat as their ‘only or principal home’, so once a tenancy has been accepted, any other property must be sold.
