Royal Star & Garter is a charity that provides care to veterans and their partners living with disability or dementia, from its homes in Solihull, Surbiton and High Wycombe.
Royal Star & Garter provides long-term and short-term nursing care to veterans. Nurses and carers are on hand 24-hours-a-day, working to promote independence and dignity.
Their short-break care offers peace of mind that loved ones will be looked after, while offering a break for family and carers.
Their day care offer has additional dedicated sessions for people living with early-stage dementia. Service users join residents for activities, outings, entertainment and meals. Emphasis is placed on rekindling memories and making new friends, helping to tackle loneliness and promote wellbeing.
They also offer a telephone friendship service, where trained volunteers can call veterans and their partners in their own homes, regardless of age and health, providing support and a friendly voice to someone who is feeling lonely.
