Seafarers' Advice and Information Line

The Seafarers' Advice and Information Line is a dedicated Citizens Advice service for Royal Navy and Royal Marines veterans.

About the Seafarers’ Advice and Information Line

The Seafarers’ Advice and Information Line (SAIL) is a charity which provides free advice to all seafarers, including Royal Navy and Royal Marine veterans.

They cover the whole of the UK and provide free, impartial, independent and confidential advice on a range of topics, including:

  • benefits
  • housing
  • debt
  • employment
  • consumer issues
  • family and relationships

Their service is available to anyone who has served, along with their partners, widows or widowers and dependants.

Advice is provided by telephone and email.

Veterans can self-refer for advice, but referrals are also accepted from third parties, and SAIL can provide second-tier advice to organisations supporting seafarers.

SAIL is based in Greenwich, London.
