About Veterans In Communities

Based in Lancashire, Veterans In Communities offer a range of community-based outreach projects, peer support activities, information and general advice on a range of welfare issues.

They are predominantly staffed by volunteers, the majority of whom have served in the armed services and can provide a safe and understanding environment.

They offers:

  • social coffee meet-ups
  • manufacturing workshops and allotment projects promoting physical and mental health
  • a chior offering benefits for health and wellbeing
  • drop-ins offering peer support, a chat, information and guidance
  • volunteering, training and learning opportunities
  • a programme of walks and trips providing opportunities for peer support and social interaction
  • outdoor activities
  • involvement in community projects

Referrals are accepted directly through drop-ins or referrals from GPs, social prescribers, statutory services and other armed forces charities or community-based organisations.
