About Veterans In Crisis

Established in 2018, Veterans in Crisis is a Sunderland-based non-profit organisation that supports veterans transitioning to civilian life.

They support those experiencing challenges such as homelessness, mental health issues or unemployment.

Support on offer includes:

  • emergency accommodation
  • housing support
  • access to food banks
  • one-to one mental health counselling
  • assistance with completing official forms
  • access to GP practices featuring armed forces champions

Additionally, the organisation promotes social integration and physical wellbeing by organising community-based social and sporting activities.

They support all veterans of the UK armed forces, regardless of the duration or nature of their military service.

They also support partners, families and carers of veterans.

No formal referral from a doctor or other professional is required. Veterans registered with a Sunderland GP can directly access support by contacting the organisation.
