Veterans With Dogs

Veterans With Dogs is a charity dedicated to training and providing assistance dogs to support veterans with mental health conditions, enhancing their quality of life and independence.

Veterans With Dogs is a charity dedicated to enhancing the lives of veterans of the UK armed forces who are struggling with mental health conditions through the provision of highly trained assistance dogs.

They specialise in breeding, raising and training assistance dogs to support veterans with a range of mental health challenges (including, but not limited to, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression). They offer a comprehensive service, from puppy selection to the formation of a lifelong partnership between veteran and dog.

They do not require a specific referral from a doctor, but applicants must provide evidence of their veteran status and mental health diagnosis as part of their assessment process.

The aim of their work is to improve veterans’ independence, reducing social isolation and empowering them to regain control of their lives, ultimately fostering better mental health and well-being.
