Tell HMRC your company is dormant for Corporation Tax
Use this service to tell HMRC your company is not trading and is dormant for Corporation Tax.
After you tell HMRC your company is dormant, you will not have to file another Company Tax Return unless either:
- HMRC asks you to
- you begin trading again
You still have to send information about a dormant company to Companies House.
Before you start
You’ll need:
- your company’s name
- your 10-digit Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) - find your UTR number if you do not know it
- the date your company stopped trading (if it began trading)
Agents
If you’re a tax agent or adviser, you can use this service on behalf of your client. You must have an agent code.
