Update or surrender your registered trade marks
You must tell the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) if any of the details held in the trade mark register need updating or correcting.
You must also tell IPO if you want to give up your rights to your trade mark or appoint a representative or agent.
You don’t pay a fee to update the register.
Update your personal details
Fill in a request to update a trade mark owner’s personal details to change your:
- name
- address
Give up (‘surrender’) your rights to a trade mark
Fill in either a:
- notice to surrender a registered trade mark - to give up all your rights in a trade mark
- notice to partially surrender a registration - if you only want to give up some of your rights
Correct a mistake on the register
Fill in the application to rectify the register to correct:
- a mistake you made, eg in your personal details
- any mistakes in the wording
Appoint or change an agent or representative
Fill in the form to appoint or change a representative to manage your registered trade marks. You can also use this form to update a current representative’s details, for example their address.
