Call to run a project to undertake a range of activities to help make the training and education provision more responsive to the needs of the local economy, so that employers skills needs are more effectively met in Leeds City Region.

Details
The programme will support SMEs to increase their skills and productivity levels through the employment of graduates, driving business growth and development as well as enhancing graduate retention.
The proposed activities, although not exhaustive, aim to support SME businesses, across a range of sectors, in particular LEP Area priority sectors, to provide additional placements, internships and graduate level employment opportunities in particularly those for HE/FE students and graduates as well as better understand the skills and employment landscape and the opportunities available to both businesses, their existing and future workforce.
The LEP’s Priority Sectors are:
- Digital and creative industries
- Low carbon and environmental industries
- Health and life sciences
- Innovative manufacturing
- Financial and professional services
- Food and drink
Proposals should demonstrate how they will identify potential SMEs and outline the package of support that will be offered. Internships must be a minimum of 12 weeks’ duration. All graduate interns must be paid at the National Minimum Wage as a minimum.
We are seeking one programme which must deliver across the whole of the Leeds City Region.

The project must cover the Leeds City Region LEP Area.
Value
Approximately £1,465,022 of funding is available.
Deadlines
Full application deadline: 13 May 2019
Completion date
The project must be completed no later than 3 years and 6 months after the proposed start date.
