Call for evidence description

The rapid growth of mobile data usage and the prevalence of smartphones and tablets now means that consumers expect high quality, reliable connectivity everywhere. This is why in our 5G strategy earlier this year the government committed to improving coverage where people live, work and travel. Improving coverage on trains is a key part of that commitment. This call for evidence will inform our thinking on policy and delivery, and support the government’s ambition to have digital connectivity on our railways that meets passenger expectations and ensures the UK is amongst the world leaders in 5G.
