The government published its response to this call for views on 31 January 2025.

We received 123 responses to the call for views from stakeholders, including organisations, industry associations, international partners and individuals. 80% of respondents to the Call for Views were supportive of the government’s proposed approach to publish a Code of Practice that would be used as the basis for a global standard in ETSI. There was also overwhelming support for the inclusion of each of the principles contained with the Code, ranging from 83% to 90% support.

The code of practice has been updated following feedback from this call for views. You can now see the final version of the AI Cyber Security Code of Practice which has been published alongside the government’s response. In addition, in response to feedback, the government has published an implementation guide to help organisations adopt the code’s requirements.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming our daily lives. As the technology continues to evolve and be embedded, it is crucial we ensure cyber security is a key underpinning of AI safety.

This call for views set out specific interventions to help secure AI, so the many benefits of AI can be realised.

To support this call for views, the government also published a number of previous research reports on AI cyber security, including surveys and literature reviews. Please visit the research on the cyber security of AI page for further details.

This is part of the government’s wider work to protect and promote the UK online, including securing the next generation of connected technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI).
