This Call for Evidence received 18 responses from a range of organisations, including some that have been closely involved with the Dormant Assets Scheme during its lifetime.
The Call for Evidence sought feedback on the Scheme’s operation since the 2022 Act received Royal Assent in February 2022 and ran between 24 September to 22 October 2024. Responses to the Call for Evidence were summarised and published in the Dormant Assets Parliamentary Review that was published on 12 February 2025. To comply with data protection regulations, all data received has been anonymised.

Call for evidence description
The Dormant Assets Act 2022 set out that the government must periodically review the operation of the Dormant Assets Scheme and lay a report before Parliament. The first of these reviews is due to be published by February 2025.
This call for evidence will cover the 3 year period from February 2022 to February 2025 and seeks views on:
- the operation of the Dormant Assets Scheme and the Alternative Scheme
- the steps taken by participants to reunite assets with their owners, including the arrangements made to meet reclaims
- the phased expansion of the Dormant Assets Scheme
