Almost £180,000 to support Aberystwyth and District Hospice at Home Volunteers

£179,730 was allocated to Aberystwyth and District Hospice at Home Volunteers in Ceredigion in December 2022 from the UK Community Ownership Fund.

This funding will deliver ‘Plas Antaron – a Place for Wellbeing and Hope’.

Aberystwyth and District Hospice at Home Volunteers (HAVAV) provide a range of activities to support people with chronic and life limiting conditions and their carers. HAVAV is based at a Living Well centre known as Plas Antaron which is currently leased to the organisation.

COF funding will enable HAVAV to purchase the building, exercising a “right to buy” clause in the lease.

The organisation intends to:

  • make improvements to accessibility of the accommodation after purchase
  • create new useable spaces to increase the activities they provide
