Draft river basin management plans: 2021
River basin management plans (RBMPs) describe the challenges that threaten the water environment and how these challenges can be managed and funded.
These are the draft RBMPs for each river basin district (RBD). Consultation on the draft plans closed in April 2022. The river basin management plans: updated 2022 are now published.
You can read a summary of the responses on the draft river basin management plans consultation page. A consultation on the draft flood risk management plans 2021 to 2027 ran at the same time for 3 months from 22 October 2021.
RBMPs in England, Wales and Scotland
Use the river basin district map to find the area you are interested in.
There are 11 RBDs in England and Wales. The Environment Agency manages the 7 RBDs in England.
Natural Resources Wales manage the Western Wales RBD. Natural Resources Wales and the Environment Agency jointly manage the Dee and Severn RBDs. See the RBMPs for Western Wales and Dee on the Natural Resources Wales website.

Guide to the draft river basin management plans
The draft RBMPs consist of documents and online systems which present the data and maps. You can view, print or download draft RBMP data using these systems.
