The national framework sets out the government’s priorities and objectives for fire and rescue authorities in England.

The government has a duty under the Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004 to produce the framework and keep it current.

The Home Secretary reports every 2 years on fire and rescue authorities’ compliance with the framework.
