HS2 Phase One planning forum: environmental health subgroup
A subgroup of the HS2 Phase One planning forum, the environmental health group meet every two months to discuss associated matters.
The HS2 Phase One planning forum provides the opportunity for local authorities, the nominated undertaker and representatives from government departments to cooperate and carry out work for Phase One of the project.
Invitees to the environmental health subgroup include environmental health practitioner representatives from relevant local authorities, High Speed Two (HS2) Ltd and the Department for Transport. The subgroup has an interim independent chairman, Ted Allett, who has over 30 years’ experience in the environment and planning industries.
The subgroup generally meets every 2 months with a forward programme of meetings and anticipated agenda items produced and maintained. The meetings are recorded in minutes and the meeting papers distributed to members.
Matters addressed at the forum change and evolve to reflect the development stages of the project with the forum’s terms of reference updated accordingly. During the passage of the High Speed Rail (London to West Midlands) Bill through Parliament, the focus of the forum is to discuss route wide principles, standards, practices and processes associated with environmental health matters.
