Infected Blood Interim Compensation Payment Scheme

This page contains the latest information on interim compensation payments, delivered by the Infected Blood Support Schemes to those eligible infected beneficiaries, bereaved partner beneficiaries, and to the estates of deceased infected beneficiaries.

Interim payments are compensation payments made ahead of any final awards given under the Infected Blood Compensation Scheme, which will be delivered by a new arm’s length body, the Infected Blood Compensation Authority.

Guidance on the eligibility and application of criteria for interim payments

Information contained in the guidance below outlines the eligibility and application process for interim payments. This includes interim payments to living infected beneficiaries and bereaved partner beneficiaries (which began in October 2022). As well as interim payments to the estates of deceased infected beneficiaries (announced April 2024) and additional interim payments to living infected beneficiaries (announced 21 May 2024).
