Opportunities to extract surface coal resources
This series collects planning applications where removal of shallow coal resources is recommended as part of the ground works.
The recommendations made by the Coal Authority’s Planning and Local Authority Liaison department are made to avoid the unnecessary sterilisation of coal resources and to ensure the site is safe and stable.
