Partnerships for People and Place

Information on the Partnerships for People and Place programme.

The Partnerships for People and Place (PfPP) programme was delivered by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities (DLUHC) between February 2021 and March 2023.

The programme, funded under the HM Treasury Shared Outcomes Fund, was established to respond to the ‘cross-cutting challenge’ of joining up within and between central government departments and between central government and local authorities when delivering in a ‘place-based’ way.

It tested new ways of working to further build the evidence for place-based policymaking and explore different approaches to drive change in the way central and local government work together and engage with individuals to improve outcomes. The programme also sought to unblock barriers to partnership working and bring place to the centre of policymaking – ultimately aiming to deliver better outcomes for local people.
