Special Development Orders: Decisions
Planning permissions granted by means of a Special Development Order. Only applies to England.
Special Development Orders: Background
Special Development Orders are an established part of the planning system in England. Section 59 of the Town and County Act 1990 allows His Majesty’s Principal Secretaries of State to grant planning permission by making a Special Development Order.
A Special Development Order is a form of secondary legislation.
A Special Development Order usually details the development permitted and the land to which the permission applies, together with any conditions and limitations that apply to the planning permission.
