Consultation description

We want to know what you think about our plans to make sheep carcase classification and price reporting mandatory for commercial abattoirs. This would apply to England only. Carcase classification has been mandatory in the beef and pig sectors for many years.

The consultation also seeks views on requiring abattoirs to publish their schedules to improve transparency. We expect these changes to improve fairness and price transparency for producers in the livestock sector.
