The order and regulations:
- make schools teach the new programmes of study for key stage 4 English and maths from September 2015
- extend the period in which schools do not have to follow the national curriculum in key stage 4 science, to cover the 2015 to 2016 academic year
A consultation on the content of the key stage 4 programmes of study for English and maths was run in December 2013 and the government response is now available.
