The Privacy and Inclusion Advisory Forum (PIAF) advises the Government Digital Service (GDS) on privacy and inclusion matters related to the development of the new cross-government single sign on and digital identity assurance system.

The Privacy and Inclusion Advisory Forum has closed. It merged with the Privacy and Consumer Advisory Group to create the One Login Inclusion and Privacy Advisory Group in November 2023.

Role

The Privacy and Inclusion Advisory Forum (PIAF):

  • ensures regular and meaningful engagement with key privacy and inclusion groups
  • helps to shape the development of the new cross-government single sign on and digital identity assurance system (known as ‘One Login for Government’)

PIAF’s membership is made up of individual experts and nominated representatives from privacy, civil society, equality and inclusion organisations.

Governance

This forum is chaired by Natalie Jones, Director of Digital Identity at GDS. GDS also provides the Secretariat.

Advice is reached by broad consensus of the group, with members free to express different opinions.

Code of conduct

Every member of the group is expected to be considerate of others and contribute to a collaborative, respectful and positive environment.

Some aspects of the One Login for Government programme are sensitive and it’s essential that we create, maintain and operate a trusted environment for discussion whilst upholding confidentiality.

Being a member of the forum does not prevent members from publicly speaking, writing or publishing on any topic within the remit of the group. However, they cannot share advice provided in confidence by other members in the forum without first getting explicit approval from the Chair.

Meetings

PIAF will meet at least once every 3 months. The Secretariat will schedule all meetings.

Proposed agenda items should be forwarded to the Chair and Secretariat at least 2 weeks before the next meeting.
