British businesses aim to forge closer ties with the MENA region
For the ninth consecutive year, UK Trade and Investment will be holding a 'Britain in the Region' conference in Dubai on 16 March 2015.
Britain in the Region – a UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) flagship event in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) - is aimed at British companies seeking new business opportunities in the region.
It is relevant for companies across the full range of sectors, particularly for those wishing to understand the supply chain arrangements associated with the larger, more complex projects which are now in their initial stages.
The programme is tailored both for ‘new-to-market’ companies from around the UK seeking to internationalise their businesses (or bring them to this region) for the first time, as well as UK companies already operating here in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and beyond who are seeking new opportunities in the wider region. It includes panel discussions on doing business in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman.
Companies will be able to get guidance from experts and representatives of regional agencies, UK companies already established in the region and lawyers, bankers and other consulting companies.
The delegates will have the opportunity to book meetings with UKTI representatives from the Middle East and North Africa, and to network with invited British and local UAE companies.
Companies should register for the event by email to Britain in the Region.
Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the UAE, Philip Parham, said:
We are holding the “Britain in the Region” conference in Dubai for the ninth consecutive year. The event has a proven track record of bringing together companies from the UK, the UAE and the region. It is an excellent starting point for companies to understand the strategic role of the UAE as a regional hub in the wider Middle East market and beyond.
Last year, ‘Britain in the Region’ was attended by over 200 companies from the UK and the region, drawn from a range of sectors. These included, for example, infrastructure, education and training, healthcare and creative industries. I urge UK companies to take this opportunity and to register for the event now.
