The British High Commission will be running an awareness campaign on its Facebook and Twitter pages, sharing useful tips for Pakistanis applying for UK visas.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government
UKVI

Inaugurating the campaign, the British High Commission’s Head of Visas and Immigration, Claire Murray said:

The UK and Pakistan have a long history and strong cultural and family connections. There are over one million journeys between the two countries every year, making Pakistanis among the top five nationalities visiting the UK. This underlines the close relationship between our two countries.

Every year we receive tens of thousands of applications for UK visas, the majority of which are issued. The UK is open for business and tourism. We also want to attract the brightest and the best to study in our universities.

The summer always sees a surge in UK visa applications, as tourism peaks ahead of Ramazan and students apply for their visas to begin university courses in September and October. With the Commonwealth Games also kicking off in Scotland this July, we are seeing an increase in the usual summer demand. But this campaign is not solely aimed at students or tourists. We’ll be sharing top tips and giving advice to all prospective UK visa applicants on what types of visas to apply for, what documents we require and the likely turnaround times. We’ll also be inviting customers to send us their questions, via Facebook and Twitter.

There are many myths surrounding the UK visa application process. This campaign aims to eradicate these and signpost genuine applicants to all the information they need to submit an application.
