Companies House appoints 2 new independent adjudicators
Brian Stanton and Deirdre Domingo have been appointed as independent adjudicators at Companies House.
Companies House independent adjudicators are called upon to consider formal appeals and complaints, to commission and review investigation reports, and to decide on appropriate action. Where appropriate, they also make recommendations to the Registrar of Companies to improve our service.
Brian Stanton is a qualified solicitor, director of Innovo Law, and former deputy director at the Government Legal Department. He has extensive experience of investigative and inquiry work, including at the Serious Fraud Office and several high-profile public inquiries.
Deirdre Domingo is a qualified solicitor and director of Innovo Law. She is a former UK government lawyer, and specialises in independent investigations and reviews, public inquiries, and inquests. She has been admitted to the New York Bar and has a Master of Laws in International Law.
The pair will bring valuable skills and experience from the private and public sectors.
An independent adjudicator is not part of the management structure of Companies House and acts as impartial referees in any case that falls within their remit. They must ensure that they provide a speedy, impartial and accessible service for the complainant.
Jill Callan, Director of Customer Delivery at Companies House, said:
We’re delighted to appoint Brian and Deirdre to our team of independent adjudicators.
They both have extensive experience gained across the private and public sectors and will bring unrivalled knowledge and insight to this important area of work.
They have displayed a deep commitment and understanding of the person behind the complaint and will make excellent advocates for the customer.
