New Non-Executive Board Member appointed for the Single Source Regulations Office (SSRO), which provides independent, expert leadership in the regulation of single source defence contracts

The Minister for Defence Procurement has appointed a new Non-Executive Board Member for the SSRO.

Roy Barker will assume the post on 1 June 2023. Roy has a track record of leadership in delivery, sales and commercial roles in UK businesses including Aquila Air Traffic Management Services Ltd, Thales UK Ltd and Fujitsu Services Ltd, providing services to public and private sector organisations.

SSRO Chair, Hannah Nixon welcomed the new appointment:

I very much look forward to working with Roy in his new role of Non-Executive Board Member of the SSRO. Roy brings deep sector knowledge of defence and outsourced services which will be invaluable as we support industry and the MOD, now and as the reforms to the regulatory framework set out in the MOD’s 2022 Command Paper are implemented in Spring 2024.
