Stephen Crabb welcomes EC investigation into cheap steel imports

The Secretary of State has welcomed the announcement by the European Commission of an investigation into cheap steel imports.

This was published under the 2015 to 2016 Cameron Conservative government

Stephen Crabb, Secretary of State for Wales, said:

“The European Commission’s new investigation into cheap steel imports is very welcome and underlines our determination to ensure a level playing field for the industry.

“The UK Government has been at the forefront of pushing for Europe-wide action and maintaining pressure on other countries to help support steel.

“I visited Tata today with Business Secretary Sajid Javid to discuss how the company is coping with the global issues that the steel industry is facing and how the UK Government can help Tata to remain a significant presence in South Wales for many years to come.”
