Superfast broadband breaks the half a million barrier in Wales
Alun Cairns: Today’s milestone marks a significant leap forward in our efforts to ensure Wales has a broadband network fit for the digital age
Wales Office Minister Alun Cairns said:
Half a million homes and businesses across Wales have been transformed by superfast broadband – changing everything from the way we bank , do business and communicate around the world.
The UK Government firmly believes that fast and reliable connectivity is essential, not only for everyday life, but also for the economic success of the UK. Businesses are able to expand into new markets and create the jobs we need by competing on the international stage. It also allows local communities in the most rural areas of Wales to access public services more quickly and efficiently online.
Today’s milestone marks a significant leap forward in our efforts to ensure Wales has a broadband network fit for the digital age.
