The Home Office and Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) conducted 9 trials across England in 2022 to test age estimation technology and digital ID apps in a variety of retail environments that sold alcohol.
The outcomes from the trial are now available and the government is in the process of evaluating these and providing an update.
