Allied Joint Publication (AJP)-6, Allied Joint Doctrine for Communication and Information Systems (Edition B Version 1) provides the overarching doctrinal guidance to integrate communication and information systems (CIS) into Allied joint operations across the range of Allied operations and missions. 

AJP-6 describes the characteristics, overall structure, roles and responsibilities, command and control, and security relating to CIS.

Who should read this publication

AJP-6 is intended primarily as guidance for joint NATO commanders and staffs. However, the doctrine is instructive to, and provides a useful framework for operations conducted by a coalition of mission participants. It also provides a reference for civilian mission participants.
