Arrangements for handling heritage applications: circular 01/2001

This circular concerns the identification and protection of historic buildings, conservation areas and other aspects of the historic environment.

Following changes to the handling arrangements for heritage related applications which came into force on 15 April 2015, the Directions contained in this circular (with the exception of Appendix C) and in:

Circular 09/2005: arrangements for handling heritage applications – notification to National Amenity Societies Direction 2005
Circular 08/2009: arrangements for handling heritage applications – notification to the Secretary of State (England) Direction 2009

were revoked and the circulars cancelled.

Following the publication of updated guidance on the compulsory purchase process on 29 October 2015, Appendix C of Circular 01/01 was also cancelled.

  • Circular 08/2009: arrangements for handling heritage applications – notification to the Secretary of State (England) Direction 2009

were revoked and the circulars (with the exception of Appendix C of Circular 01/01) cancelled.
