Following changes to the handling arrangements for heritage related applications which came into force on 15 April 2015, the Directions contained in this circular and in:

Circular 09/2005: arrangements for handling heritage applications – notification to National Amenity Societies Direction 2005
-
Circular 08/2009: arrangements for handling heritage applications – notification to the Secretary of State (England) Direction 2009
were revoked and the circulars (with the exception of Appendix C of Circular 01/01) cancelled.
Following the publication of updated guidance on the compulsory purchase process on 29 October 2015, Appendix C of Circular 01/01 has now also been cancelled.
