Details

First drafted in 2009, the strategy sets out the BAT’s policy toward protecting the UK’s Antarctic heritage, methods for doing so and clear actions for the government and its stakeholders going forward.

The strategy was written in consultation with experts from the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust (UKAHT) and the British Antarctic Survey. The publication of the strategy coincides with the arrival of the UKAHT team at Port Lockroy where they will shortly open up Antarctica’s only working museum, the UKAHT shop and the BAT Post Office for its annual season.
