Calf Housing for Health and Welfare grant round 1: guidance for invited applicants

Only invited applicants can apply for round 1 of the Calf Housing for Health and Welfare grant.

Round 1 of the Calf Housing for Health and Welfare grant is to build new, or upgrade existing, buildings to house calves to deliver health and welfare benefits.

Grant value: between £15,000 and £500,000.

Who can apply

You can apply for a grant if you’re an existing cattle farmer carrying out farming activity, including calf rearing, with 11 or more cattle.

Any buildings you build or upgrade with money from the grant must be located in England.

When you can apply 

You have until 11.59pm on 30 April 2025 to submit your full application.

  3. Complete your application and email it with any supporting documents to ftf@rpa.gov.uk

If your application is successful, the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) will send you a grant funding agreement (GFA).
