The aim of this report by the Committee on Medical Aspects of Radiation in the Environment (COMARE) is to investigate suggestions of increased childhood cancer rates near the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment at Aldermaston and the Royal Ordnance Factory at Burghfield. It considered the doses from radioactive discharges and other mechanisms by which radiation could be involved.
