Details

The Productivity Plan published on 10 July 2015 announced that the Government had implemented a new model for the centralised management of public sector spectrum.

Under this new model, a central management unit (CMU) will be set up in the Shareholder Executive. Advised by Ofcom, the CMU will produce a new target for sharing or release of spectrum currently used by the public sector, coordinate public sector spectrum changes that contribute to achieving the target, and set the spectrum fees payable by government bodies.
