Competition: Humans in Systems: Accelerating Interaction Innovation
Innovation to help optimise the role of humans in Human Machine Interfaces
Documents
Details
This Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) competition is seeking novel and innovative proposals to support improvements in human machine interaction and to support computer mediated teamwork and collaboration (across both human to human, and human to machine teams)
The competition is looking to harness innovations that could be employed across some or all of the Defence domains (Maritime, Land, Cyber, Space or Air). Furthermore it is not constrained to one particular type of defence role; therefore deployed operational environments, vehicle platform environments, control rooms and Headquarters are all within scope.
Can you help Defence:
- influence the future of the Operating Environment
- develop Human Machine Interface innovations within a constrained space environment
- enhance Teamwork and Collaboration
Total funding available
The total possible funding available for this competition is £1 million (ex VAT), and we expect to fund a number of proposals of up to £175 thousand (ex. VAT) each in value, over a maximum project duration of 12 months.
We are looking to fund several proposals across three different challenge areas and with a range of maturity levels. We are interested in lower TRL ideas for acceleration, through to ideas which develop HMI at TRL6.
Additional funding for further phases to increase the TRL may be available. If there will be a future phase, it will be open to applications from all innovators and not just those who submitted Phase 1 successful bids.
Submission deadline
19 July 2023 at 12 midday (BST).
Where do I submit my proposal?
Via the DASA Online Submission Service for which you will require an account.
Only proposals submitted through the DASA Online Submission Service will be accepted.
You must not submit any information classified above OFFICIAL.
