Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme employer and agent quantitative research

Details

This research was conducted by the research agency Ipsos on behalf of HMRC. The research explored the delivery of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, including awareness and understanding, experiences of applying and customer contact. It also explored early impacts of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, such as the impact of the scheme on preventing and slowing down job losses and the ability of the scheme to support businesses in continuing to operate.

The quantitative research used surveys with employers and agents. It included employers who did use the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, and employers who didn’t. It also included agents who had supported employers to apply for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. Fieldwork took place between November 2020 and February 2021.

The findings from this research have been used in the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme interim evaluation report.
