This document sets out the Home Office’s assessment of Privacy Impacts associated with the interception provisions in the Data Retention and Investigatory Powers Act. The document:

  • considers the privacy impact of the proposed legislation
  • assesses whether the capabilities implemented through this proposed legislation will be compliant with the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) and Data Protection Principles (DPP).
