Dental reform: next step

How dental practices will test whole versions of a possible new system in a stage called 'prototyping'

Documents

Details

Prototyping is the next step in the reform of primary care dentistry. Following the initial pilot scheme, a prototype of a possible new system is to be trialled in selected dental practices.

The ‘Dental contract reform: prototypes’ document provides information on:

  • the background to the reform
  • lessons learnt from current pilot practices
  • proposals for prototyping
  • how dental practices can apply to be a prototype.

This follows an engagement exercise on reforming dental contracts - see response to the consultation exercise.

Prototyping will start from the autumn of 2015.

Dental practices can apply to become a prototype on the Primary Care Commissioning website.
