This seascape character area assessment summarises responses to an informal consultation on characteristics previously carried out by Natural England.
The consultation engaged with stakeholders to verify the characteristics and make amendments, where necessary, to enable us to include these as part of their evidence base for policy development within marine planning.
There were 18 individual responses containing over 300 individual comments, and the consultation ran over a 2-week period and closed on 27 April 2012. The comments have been used to define a list of amended characteristics, and helped form the evidence base for policy development within the first marine plans for the East Inshore and East Offshore plan areas.
