This research report explores the evidence about travel barriers that adversely affect accessibility for people with mental impairments such as dementia, learning disabilities and mental health conditions. It identifies suitable ways to overcome the barriers and considers a range of interventions to:

  • enhance the mental skills of travellers
  • modify the travel environment to enable people to make their journeys
