Details
If your community is in a flood risk area, do what you can now to prepare for a flood. Don’t wait until it happens; you may not have time.
The community flood plan includes a list of things you should do in advance of a flood.
Read our personal flood plan advice for core steps to take to stay safe in a flood.
To find out if you are at risk, you can:
- check for flooding in the next 5 days
- sign up for flood warnings by phone, text or email
- check your long term flood risk from rivers, the sea, surface water, reservoirs and groundwater (where data is available)
This guidance is for anyone involved in supporting communities or groups, such as:
- people active in the local community
- leaders of community groups
- local responders
- people working in the voluntary sector
- any other interested members of the community
