Course aim
All flying displays should be organised and executed by a flying display director accredited by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and / or the Military Aviation Authority (MAA). The flying display directors accreditation course provides the environment within which the regulators can assess each candidates’ suitability to fulfil the role of flying display director.
The course will include presentations on the military and civilian flying display regulations, airspace considerations and safety related issues that should be considered when planning a flying display. The presentations are supported by practical interactive exercises which address the planning tasks and responsibilities that rest with the flying display director.
The accreditation panel will consider each candidates flying display related experience, review their pre-course preparation work, observe their participation during the course and use their end of course examination results to determine their level of understanding prior to awarding them one of three tiers of accreditation to fulfil the role of flying display director at military and / or civilian regulated flying display based on the events level of complexity.
