The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (the department) received the following request which we responded to under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA):

The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (the department) received the following request for information on 25 June 2024 which we responded to under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA):

  1. Please state how much has been spent on redecorating/renovating the private offices of Ministers in your department? For each incidence please state (i) the cost, (ii) what goods or services were provided for the cost, (iii) the date the invoice was settled and (iv) which Minister’s office the work was carried out in?

  2. Please state how much has been spent on the provision of furniture and fittings and fixtures for the private offices of Ministers in your department, which have not already been included as part of your response to Question 1. For each incidence please state (i) the cost, (ii) what was provided for the cost (please be as detailed as possible about the nature of any furniture - eg manufacturer, size, materials etc), (iii) the date the invoice was settled and (iv) which Minister’s office the furniture/fittings were placed?

Our response

Following a search of its records, the Department can confirm that it does not hold information in scope of your request.

The Department is onboarded to the Government Property Agency (GPA). GPA is the landlord or building manager at the Department’s office occupations, and the Department is a tenant.
